In May 2010, Wei-Ling Gallery in association with StudioGlass London, is proud to present a unique exhibition of Contemporary Czech Glass.
Since the Middle Ages the Czechs have been recognized for their traditional glass and crystal work, in particular Bohemia Crystal. In the fifties a new generation of modern artists emerged. This group have taken glass-making in the country to another level by re-interpreting it with a contemporary vision.
Today Czech glass artists are amongst the world’s leaders in this field, with their innovative and creative vision coupled with a strong technical understanding of the material. Czech glass art is principally a combination of sculptural and graphic expression.
This will be the first time that an exhibition of works by some of the Czech Republic’s finest glass artists will feature in Malaysia. Featured artists include Jiri Sin, Ivana Houserova, Anna Matouskova, Ales Vasicek, Josef Marek, Jaroslav Matous,
Jan Exnar.
This breathtaking exhibition will feature at Wei-Ling Gallery from 17th May-2nd June 2010
