Week 1 – Mark–making

List of techniques: Shading, Hatching, rubbing and tinting.

Week 2 – Handling of drawing instruments

0–9 roman letter practice, horizontal & vertical lines practice (A1)

Week 3 – Gesture & Contour

Geometrical form observation (special still life)

Week 4 – Form & Volumetric

Silhouettes, positive & negative space interchange

Drawing II (Fundamental 2: 4 weeks)

Week 5 – Value

Study of lighting, natural & artificial reflection of light, locating shadow

Week 6 – Space

Flat space, actual space & ambi guo us space

Week 7 – Perspective I

1– vanishing point & 2– vanishing point

Week 8– Perspective II

3–vanishing point & 4–vanishing point (distorted view)

Drawing III (Still Life: 4 weeks)

Week 9 – Understanding of colour

Itten Colour wheel, capturing colour from surrounding

Week 10 – Capturing Atmospheric Reaction

Artificial & natural lighting (tungsten, florescent, direct sunlight,
reflected sunlight, under shade)

Week 11 – Understanding reflective & transparent

Glass, gloss PVC, laminated surface, matt surface & etc.

Week 12 – Study the setting

Free standing, corner setting & flat wall

Painting I (fundamental studies: 8 weeks)

Week 1 – Understanding of the medium

Preparing canvas surface, stretching the canvas, and preparing watercolour paper

Week 2 – Mark–making 1 (intuitional marks)

Technique: wet–in–wet, frottage, spattering, staining & etc.

Week 3 – Mark–making 2 (intentional marks)

Technique: washed, masking, stippling & etc.

Week 4 – Colour mixing

Building Itten Colour wheel, collecting vocabulary of hue

Outdoor scenery observation
